7 Bad Beauty Habits To Break

1. Sleeping with makeup on:

Let’s admit it! we all have slept with makeup on because we’re too lazy and sleepy at night to wash our face. Even if it’s as simple as using a wipe to take off our makeup, it seems like quite the task. The major reason for most skin issues like dull skin, blackheads, pimples and dark under eye circles is all due to sleeping with makeup on. Your skin needs to breathe and heal at night but if you’ve makeup on, it block your pores and cause problems. 2. Sunscreen:

This is a basic part of skin care which protects your skin from harsh UV rays. Not wearing SPF(sun protection factor) means your skin is more likely to get pigmentation, spots and wrinkles. Make a habit of applying minimum SPF 30 before stepping out the door.

3. Picking face:

Do you have a habit to touch your face or pick pimples especially on your chin area while watching TV/just sitting? this might be a reason for blemishes and pimples on your face. Sometimes, its hard to resist picking pimples but thinking about the scar it leaves afterwards might prevent you from touching your face.

4. Over Exfoliating:

Using an exfoliant/ scrub is important to remove dead skin which accumulate on the surface of your skin. You shouldn’t go overboard with your scrub or rub harshly on your skin because it strips your skin of it’s natural oils. If you’ve oily skin, stripping your skin of its oils can actually cause your skin to produce more oil hence, your skin gets more greasy. If you’re dry skin, over exfoliating causes your skin to crack and peel. So, use your scrub in moderation which means no more than 2-3 times a week.

5. Dirty makeup brushes:

makeup brushes accumulate dirt, dust and bacteria over time. Dirty makeup brushes can break out your skin and cause other problems, if you have sensitive skin. You don’t want to apply makeup with a dirty tool so, once a week wash your makeup brushes with baby shampoo.

6. Throw away old makeup: 
has you foundation gone streaky? or your favourite eyeshadow creases easily? if so, its time to throw them away. Most of us don’t realize that each makeup product comes with a different expiry date.

7. Lining your waterline black:

Do you want to make your eyes appear bigger and awake? Avoid lining your waterline with black pencil/kohl as it makes your eye appear smaller. Instead, apply a nude or white pencil on your waterline and use a black color very closely below your lower lash line.
